چکیده

B Activators capable of bringing about conversiou of a proenzyme of blood, profibrinolysin (plasminogen), to the active proteolytic enzyme, fibnnolysin (plasmin), have been reported to be present in the tissues of veins. Astrup and coworkers' isolated a tissue activator from veins which promoted an in vitro activation of profibrinolysin. Studies in vivo by Kwaan et al." have indicated the presence of fibrinolytic activity in blood taken from vessels subjected to a variety of stimuli. More recently, Todd, using histoehemical techniques, has observed that fibrin undergoes dissolution when brought into intimate contact with ultra-thin slices of vein.

Tissue remodeling investigation in varicose veins

Although the etiology of varicose veins remains unknown, recent studies have focused on endothelial cell integrity and function because the endothelium regulates vessel tone and synthesizes many pro- and anti-inflammatory factors. The aim of this study was to investigate the evidence involving the endothelium in the development of varicose vein disease. In addition, tissue remodeling was invest...

Fibrinolytic activity in thrombosed veins.

• Since Virchow's observation o idity and incoagulability of cadaver capillaries and veins, a number of re indicated that this phenomenon is cau postmortem fibrinolysis. Mole suggest the vascular endothelium is a source fibrinolytic activity in cadaver blood. Kwaan et al.' applied stimuli to in man and in rabbits and obse lease of fibrinolytic activity thr< cholinergic mechanism. Release o acti...

In vitro evaluation of decontamination effects on mechanical properties of fibrin membrane

Background: Tissue engineering has been investigated as a potential method for healing traumatized tissues. Biomaterials are material devices or implants used to repair or replace native body tissues and organs. The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of decontamination methods on biological/mechanical properties and degradation/adhesion test of the platelet‑-rich fibrin (PRF) m...

Thromboplastic and Fibrinolytic Activities in Vessels of Animals.

• Deposition of fibrin on the interior wall of arteries is assumed to constitute an etiological factor in the pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis." This concept was supported when normal human aortic intima was found highly thromboplastic with no, or only traces of, fibrinolytic activity.' This observation suggested an easy deposition of fibrin after intimal injury followed by delay of removal. Fu...

Thrombo-embolic primary pulmonary arteriosclerosis.

That diverse factors are concerned in causing arterial pathological changes largely confined to lungs is clear from a review published by McKeown (1952). Only one of these factors, incorporation of fibrin into arterial intima, is here considered as a cause of pulmonary arteriosclerosis and cor pulmonale. Goedel (1930), Belt (1939), and according to Duguid (1946) Rokitansky were all aware that i...
